Winter indulgence off the slopes!

In the Zell am See region, you can enjoy every possible aspect of winter! Cosy winter hiking, tobogganing fun, sporty cross-country skiing, light-footed ice skating and romance in a horse-drawn sleigh ride.

A 40 km comprehensive network of trails in Zell am See and Kaprun will take you to the neighbouring communities. Glide through the winter landscape on classic cross-country skis, or work out on the skating track - Some trails are a real challenge, such as the Kitzsteinhorn trail. The Schmitten trail offers a charming variant.

Sledding is romantic and at the same time fun for the whole family! In Zell am See there are two toboggan runs available: the 1.5 km "Köhlergraben toboggan ", and the 2km "Guggenbichl slope". Both are attractively illuminated in the evenings.

Take a light-footed spin with friends or family over the frozen Zeller Lake. And all this against the intoxicating backdrop of the surrounding mountains. Afterwards you can warm your hands around a hot mug of tea or cocoa.

Winter- and snowshoe hiking has secured a fixed place in the pantheon of the most popular winter sports in Salzburg. No matter whether you take a leisurely and extensive winter walk on perfectly groomed trails, or a snowshoe hike to the most remote corners over pristine snow cover – the sunshine and clear mountain air will leave you feeling just great.

Take a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride and get to know the region around Zell am See. The well-behaved Haflinger horses trot through the snowy winter landscape, while you, wrapped in warm blankets, sit back and enjoy the beauties of nature.
